The Urrutia Elejalde Foundation (UEF in English and Basque or FUE in Spanish), established in Bilbao (Spain) in 1997, is a non-profit organization seeking to sponsor and promote research into the links between economic science and its philosophical foundations and advances. The UEF sponsors a number of annual meetings between economists and philosophers, including its well-known Summer School. It also sponsors events organised by like-minded institutions, such as the Ibero-American Society for Economic Methodology. The work of the Foundation is dedicated by Juan Urrutia, its current president, to the memory of his parents, Rafael Urrutia and Anselma Elejalde. This site is intended to promote the creation of intellectual networks enabling philosophers and economists to come together in order to discuss their research in topics of common interest. Please feel free to contact us with any comments or proposals for future events, using the comment form below.
